The Marvel: The tower’s tapered design utilizes a massive 1,700 tons of high-grade stainless steel. This unique exterior allows the building to resist the harsh, salty coastal weather and typhoon-force winds common to the region.

10. Changsha Meixihu International Culture & Arts Centre (Changsha) – The Desert Rose

Also designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, this breathtaking lakeside complex in Hunan province is a striking example of fluid parametric architecture.

The Marvel: From above, the three main buildings resemble a cluster of blooming white desert roses or elegant ribbons frozen mid-air. The sweeping white fiberglass panels form paths and plazas that seamlessly connect a grand theater, a contemporary art museum, and a multi-purpose hall.
